When will it happen? How much will it cost? It's nearly impossible to predict, even in new homes. Here are some examples of actual repairs paid for by Utility Shield:
$804.75 Inside Water: Water leaking down from 2nd floor to 1st floor closet. Repair required opening wall, then removing wall and floor to repair leaking flow guard pipe.
$1,000.00 Inside Gas: Gas smell led to discovery that entire system leaked at joints, required replacement to 60' of gas line to water heater, dryer, and stove.
$1,500.00 Inside Sewer: Sewage backed up into basement. Repair required removing first floor toilet and floor to replace cracked waste pipe.
$651.51 Inside Electric: No power in living room receptacles. A search of attic junction boxes determined splicing in walls had pulled apart. Rewiring through walls and molding necessary to restore power.
$2,955.00 Outside Water: Customer noticed leaks in basement and reduced water pressure. Underground water service was leaking at foundation. Trenched 80' to replace line and then backfilled.
$4,000.00 Outside Sewer: After a sewage back-up, camera discovered major break in line. Dug up section, replaced line, repaired cleanout, and rough-graded excavation.
